Top 10 Pop Punk Albums

An ode to the top 10 Pop Punk albums that have stood the test of time:

Lately I have been drawn back to the “classics.” And just like my father will always have a special place in his heart for Black Sabbath and my grandmother was always partial to old church songs, there is something to be said about the music we are drawn to in our youth. Music shapes us, carves trenches into the mushy matter of our brains, and forms the soundtrack to the memories we return to for comfort and for reminding.

Music has always been one of my anchors. So I have often turned to memories and to the music that I lived and breathed during some of the most impressionable times of my life.

To honor the dead (in my mind) era of pop punk I have compiled the following list of my favorite pop punk albums. This list is not meant to be definitive, verifiable, or objective. It is merely my list of the top ten bands and albums that have passed through the floods and fires of the 2000’s and arrived (mostly) unscathed and still packing a pop-punk-punch. My only criteria for this list is that the album has to be at least ten years old and when listened to it must still rock, and rock hard. These are the albums that have held true through the years. (And I welcome albums you think should be added to the list)

May this true, undying pop punk guide protect and rock you in your times of need as it has done for me.
